#Wear4Rare365 is a campaign designed to raise awareness for just 365 of the 7,000 rare diseases affecting 30 million Americans – 15 million of which are children.
Every year, rare disease organizations promote awareness through community events and 5k runs. We’ve all “been there, done that and have the t-shirt”. The CLF aims to make good use of those t-shirts for the next year.
Beginning on February 28th, we invite participating groups to join our Executive Director, Eden Lord, who will wear a different t-shirt each day to represent 365 rare disease groups and the brave faces battling those diseases. We invite everyone to wear their shirts on their #Wear4Rare365 day and share selfies on our feed using our campaign hashtag. At the end of the campaign year, quilts constructed from the shirts will be presented to the National Institutes of Health, the nation’s top research hospital, during Rare Disease Week in February 2018.
Each day of the #Wear4Rare365 campaign will highlight a different rare disease, the faces behind the diagnosis, and organizations that support these populations.
